Someone once said:

“Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people.”

This is why focusing on the news alone - on events - without seeing the bigger picture of our faith and the urgent need for salvation and eternal life through repentance and the forgiveness of sins is ultimately futile.

Events come and go. Headlines change. But eternity remains.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”

Matthew 24:35

And gossip - constantly talking about other people - is the lowest form of conversation.

“A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends.”

Proverbs 16:28

Don’t allow the events of this world, or the lives of other people, to distract you from the greatest question of all: Where will you spend eternity?

Yeshua said:

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”

Mark 8:36

The headlines will pass. This present world will pass. But eternity is real.

Our hope in Messiah Yeshua is eternal life - the resurrection of the body in a new, glorified form, forever united with our everlasting soul and forever with Him.

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, Yeshua, our Messiah, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.”

Philippians 3:20-21

The alternative is eternal death - everlasting separation from Him.

“These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power”
