The U.S. military has quietly coordinated the safe passage of about 70 commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three weeks, according to U.S. officials.
Most vessels traveled with their tracking systems turned off and followed routes away from Iran’s coastline to reduce the risk of drone or missile attacks.
