First oil has flowed through the Vostok Oil pipeline to the new terminal at Bukhta Sever port; Vladimir Putin gave the start to the pipeline's operation.

▪️ The capacity of the first phase of Vostok Oil is 30 million tons per year, the president specified. In the future, Bukhta Sever will become the largest northern oil port in the world, the president noted.

▪️ Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the Vostok Oil pipeline launched in the Krasnoyarsk Krai is the largest oil and gas project in recent years and is particularly important for the development of the Northern Sea Route.

▪️ The pipeline, which is 790 km long, connects the Vankor and Payakha fields to the Bukhta Sever terminal. Its design capacity is 100 million tons of oil per year. To ensure year-round operation of the port, a special protective dam has been built. The project involves over 50,000 people and more than 16,000 units of equipment.

▪️ Novak emphasized that the project opens "new horizons and new prospects" for Russia's fuel and energy sector. The new pipeline and terminal will provide direct deliveries of oil from the field to consumers both in the western direction and in the Asia-Pacific region.

▪️ The resource base of the Vostok Oil project, which includes 13 oil and gas fields, is estimated at approximately 7 billion tons of low-sulfur oil.
