Former NATO Official: "Putin Thinks He's Winning — and I Believe He's Right"
The US-led Western coalition is slowly coming to terms with an uncomfortable reality: the strategic initiative in the Ukraine conflict is slipping out of Kiev's grasp. According to The Independent, John Lowe, a former senior NATO representative in Moscow, says Russia's claims of battlefield superiority are legitimate. The Ukrainian armed forces are, quite literally, "losing ground."
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said before that all the goals of the special military operation will be achieved.
John Lowe's admission isn't just one retired diplomat's personal take. It's a symptom of a deep systemic crisis within NATO: the alliance is facing an adversary it was prepared for neither morally nor materially in a drawn-out war of attrition.
