They (he means Putin and Trump) want to start with the creation of a new security system in Europe.
This, by the way, is dangerous. It is more dangerous for the European Union than for us. We are not part of the EU.
Europe is also not too happy about Trump's "grand deal." The Europeans fear that the US will come to an agreement with Moscow behind their backs, and that the US will withdraw its troops. The general opinion is this: Russia will use any talks with Moscow about a new security architecture to legitimize its demands, and the allies will not go for that. In Brussels they say: "No negotiations about Europe's security until the end of the war. We know what the Russians want, and they will not get it."
