Career Opportunity – Accounting Manager

Al-Hajjan Company, a leading provider of transportation solutions and the authorized operator of Europcar Car Rental in Iraq, is looking for a highly qualified and results-driven Accounting Manager to join its Finance Department and lead the company’s accounting operations.

Position Information

Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Baghdad, Iraq
Employment Type: Full-Time Salry: 2,000,000 - 3,000,000 IQD
Department: Finance
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the Accounting Department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
* Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
* Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
* Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking transactions.
* Ensure full compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
* Develop and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
* Coordinate external audits and maintain effective communication with auditors and regulatory authorities.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic business decisions.
* Coach, mentor, and develop the accounting team while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or managerial responsibilities.
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, taxation, and internal controls.
* Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
* Strong analytical thinking, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are considered an advantage.
