Senior I&C Engineer

📍 Location: Baghdad, Iraq
💼 Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

● Review and evaluate I&C engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, control philosophies, Cause & Effect charts, and technical specifications.
● Ensure I&C designs comply with project requirements, client specifications, international codes, and applicable standards.
● Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, and Telecom disciplines.
● Provide technical support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
● Review vendor documentation, PLC/DCS/SCADA packages, instrument specifications, and control system designs.
● Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, constructability reviews, and technical workshops.
● Conduct field visits to inspect instrumentation installation, cable routing, control panels, loop checks, and testing activities.
● Participate in FAT, SAT, loop checking, system integration testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
● Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues.
● Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
● Identify engineering risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
● Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, specifications, and project documentation.
● Mentor junior I&C engineers and provide technical guidance.
● Ensure compliance with HSE, QA/QC, and company engineering procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
● 7–8 years of I&C engineering/design experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
● Experience covering upstream, midstream, and downstream projects.
● Good knowledge of relevant I&C engineering software and tools.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, senior management, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
● PMP Certification is preferred.
