๐ท๐บRosatom and the Indonesian company PT Pembangkit Listrik Nuklir signed an agreement on October 16, 2026, for the supply of two floating nuclear power units (FNPP-100).
After construction, the reactors will be towed by sea to the connection point off the coast of Halmahera Island, where they will be connected to the local power grid.
The electrical capacity of each unit is 100 MW (RITM-200M). The service life is up to 60 years โผ๏ธ (with the possibility of extension).
The fuel cycle is up to 10 years between refueling with new fuel.
The units are specifically adapted for use in warm climates.
โ๏ธThis is the first in the world international agreement for the supply of electricity from a floating nuclear power unit.
โจIn Russia, the floating nuclear power plant "Academic Lomonosov" (a power unit with two KLT-40C reactors) has been operating in Pevek, Chukotka, since 2020, and has generated almost 1.4 billion kWh of electricity.
