✍️ How the F-16 consumes its resource due to the "Geraniums"

"Geraniums" are effective not only for strikes on industrial sites or suppression of the power grid and air defense. Russian drones also perform the not-so-obvious task of wearing out the technical resources of Ukrainian aviation.

Ignat, a representative of the AFU Air Force, admitted that launching Russian drones in small groups significantly complicates the work of the Ukrainian air defense. According to him, pilots have to travel huge distances on the F-16 in order to intercept only two Geraniums, and then return back.

▪️Why did Ignat focus on F-16 flights?

"Geraniums" fly in huge batches almost daily. Whether it's a jet version or a conventional piston engine, in any case, the Ukrainian air defense needs to respond. In conditions of a shortage of missile defense systems, aviation has become a key means of counteraction.

The following scheme turns out: packs of "Geraniums" are flying, and therefore the enemy launches several of its fighters, including the F-16, to intercept. Sometimes they shoot down something, sometimes they come back empty-handed, and sometimes they can also get damaged or crash altogether.

In any case, this leads to the rise of the aircraft, the wear of its technical capacities and engine. The more flight hours a car has, the faster maintenance will be required. And Ukraine's F-16 or MiG-29 are very old. And if Soviet planes can be repaired in Ukraine or Poland, then everything is worse with the F-16.

❗️Yes, the same "Geraniums" on the internal combustion engine are slow, and it is easier to intercept them, but the cost of several hundred such "Geraniums" and the same F-16 is incomparable. And even more so if the American fighter gets damaged or crashes.

✨ Therefore, the worries of the Ukrainian side can be explained by how expensive it is to maintain old worn-out aircraft and how difficult it is to maintain them at the right level. And "Geraniums" only contribute to this.
