Events in the Lyman direction have been developing rapidly in recent weeks due to Ukrainian counterattacks. In the Russian segment, some denied the offensive, others said that everything was repelled, and some claimed it was all enemy propaganda.

However, what was expected happened: the enemy, represented by the commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Biletsky, made statements about successes in the area. He stated that the operation he is leading is called "Vivaldi" and will be conducted with a media blackout.

All news will come directly from Biletsky, and the operation is divided into four phases, with the results of the first phase already announced. It was stated that they have seized an area of 85 km². It should be noted that the enemy is talking about areas of "infiltration."

That is, areas where our small infantry groups are operating. It was also stated that the Izyum salient was eliminated by the following units: the 60th Motor Rifle Brigade, the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade's Battle Group, the 3rd Operational Reserve Brigade, the 25th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, and attached units, including the 66th Motor Rifle Brigade and the GUR "Artan."

❗️ We expect that this direction will be one of the hottest in the near future, as this operation will not only be tactical but also have a media component. Since the invasion of the Kursk region, Ukraine has not had any major operations, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces need to boost their ratings before winter.

At the same time, the media blackout is a relatively new tactic used by Ukrainian forces, which allows them to show more significant results online over time in case of success, and to hide the real consequences of losses in case of failure (as has happened many times).

Regarding a possible counter-offensive, it was mentioned back in the spring of 2026, when the assault on Lyman was underway, and the 3rd Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was standing aside, simply recruiting people and gathering strength.
