The FSB prevented terrorist attacks against an energy facility and an element of Moscow’s missile defense system.

FSB officers thwarted a series of terrorist attacks targeting critical facilities. Among them are an energy infrastructure facility and one of the key elements of the capital’s missile defense system.

As part of the operation, two individuals from the Transcaucasus were detained. According to available information, one of them was recruited by a SBU officer: on the instructions of his handler, he came to Russia to organize a terrorist attack and involved his acquaintance in the criminal scheme.

The preparation was carried out in detail. The perpetrators retrieved FPV drones and components for making improvised explosive devices from hiding places in the Smolensk and Kaluga regions, configured the attack drones, and transported them to the launch point in the Moscow region. The drones were to be controlled remotely — from the territory of Ukraine.
