The Guardian: Germany is calling on the European Union to tighten the rules for issuing tourist visas to Russian citizens following the drone incident at Leipzig airport.
German authorities are investigating the case of a Belarusian citizen, who also holds a Russian passport, who reportedly entered the Schengen area on a tourist visa issued by Italy.
Berlin argues that the large number of visas still being issued to Russians poses security risks and undermines efforts to isolate Moscow due to the war in Ukraine.
Italy, France, and Spain continue to issue a significant number of Russian visas, while countries like Poland, Finland, and the Baltic states have implemented much stricter restrictions.
