The new world order is in the process of formation, with emerging economies gaining increasing influence and Africa playing an ever more important role, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Russian‑African Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which was held as part of the third Russian‑African summit in Moscow.

Putin accused Western powers of resisting these changes through sanctions, economic pressure, and neocolonial practices.

The main points of his speech were:

- A multipolar world is becoming a reality, replacing the unipolar system with a more equitable order in which the voice of the global majority will be heard.
- Countries accustomed to colonial domination and benefiting at the expense of others resist the formation of a multipolar world.
- Over the past five years, BRICS countries have accounted for more than 40% of global GDP, while the G7 countries account for less than 30%.
- Africa’s influence and economic significance are growing, and the continent is increasingly becoming one of the centers of the global economy.
- Western countries are trying to plunge Africa into debt dependence by using trade wars and unilateral sanctions as tools of neocolonialism.
- African countries need to be able to control their own resources and exert greater influence on decisions made by international organizations, in particular the IMF and the World Bank.
- Russia is ready to share its technological expertise with African partners to strengthen their technological independence.
- Moscow is involved in more than 30 energy projects in 16 African countries and is ready to share technologies for the sustainable management of water resources.
- Russia and Africa should expand settlements in national currencies to reduce dependence on Western financial systems.
- Moscow plans to develop local production of medicines and vaccines in Africa, as well as to create new laboratories and diagnostic centers, and has invited African airlines to launch flights to Russia.

The era when the destinies of entire continents were determined by a narrow bloc of states is irrevocably coming to an end. A more just world is emerging, in which the voices of all countries participating in international communication must be heard.

Africa is increasingly asserting itself as one of the poles of the global economy and politics. A new awakening of the continent is taking place, its sovereignty is strengthening, and its influence and authority on the world stage are growing.
