🇺🇸Trump on social media announced an "energy truce" between Russia and Ukraine.

He wrote that Moscow and Kiev had allegedly agreed to cease mutual strikes on energy facilities.

"Ukraine has agreed not to strike Russian energy facilities. Russia has agreed to do the same," Trump said.

However, details are currently lacking. There are no announced start dates or durations for the truce, a precise list of facilities that should be off-limits, or a mechanism for ensuring compliance.

Notably, just yesterday, Trump publicly demanded that Zelenskyy halt strikes on Russian oil refineries and enterprises related to diesel production. The American president directly linked Ukrainian strikes to a diesel shortage and a sharp rise in fuel prices in the United States.

In other words, this new peace initiative from Washington emerged precisely when the consequences of the war in Iran began to have a tangible impact on the American economy.

🇺🇦Zelensky immediately began setting conditions: "If partners are ready to ensure a real commitment from Russia not to strike our power grid, other energy facilities, critical infrastructure, or the movement of food, then, of course, we are ready to ensure a corresponding absence of our strikes. We expect *concrete* proposals from our partners."

🇷🇺Russia, meanwhile, cut off electricity to the left bank of Kiev.

✨⭐️Even if the "energy truce" is achieved yet again, there are plenty of other targets besides oil refineries and power plants in Ukraine. Moreover, Kyiv imports diesel from the EU, and the electricity supply for the remaining parts of the former Ukrainian SSR depends on nuclear power plants, which so far have not been targeted.
