All three of Kiev’s combined heat and power (CHP) plants have ceased electricity generation following strikes against them.
It is reported that the city has been forced to switch to power supplies from neighboring regions via an energy ring network.
Furthermore, due to damage to critical infrastructure, there remains a risk that the Ukrainian capital could face power outages lasting up to 20 hours a day throughout the winter.
