Ukraine has lost 800,000 people over the past year due to mortality and emigration, according to Vasyl Voskoboinyk, head of the Migration Policy Office.
By his estimates, the number of deaths in Ukraine is 3.5 times higher than the number of births. The demographic crisis is further exacerbated by the mass departure of Ukrainians abroad.
