Ukrainian drone operators from the 412th Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces "destroyed" an American armored brigade during exercises in Germany, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Combined Resolve exercises took place earlier this year. The American armored vehicles generated a lot of dust, making them easy to detect with reconnaissance drones. After that, drones with payload delivery systems and FPV drones were used to target them.
The Ukrainian drones were destroying American equipment so quickly that it had to be returned to the training scenario as new, undamaged units. Over the two weeks of the exercises, the Americans became better at countering drones: they learned to disperse, camouflage their equipment, and use electronic warfare measures.
