🤡 Estonian Defense Chief Quits After €70M Ammunition Deal Fiasco
🤔 Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced his resignation after a criminal investigation was opened into an ammunition procurement deal for Ukraine.
🔀 Estonia transferred €70 million to what was presented as Italian company Datasel S.R.L. The money reportedly ended up with Indian contractors who had never produced a single round of ammunition.
💳 According to the report, the contractors failed to figure out how to manufacture the ammunition and then stopped responding to the Estonian Defense Ministry after receiving full prepayment.
➡Pevkur said he was taking political responsibility for the situation and stepped down.
