🇫🇷French journalist Natacha Rey, who launched an investigation into the gender of Emmanuel Macron's wife Brigitte, has died, French media report. The cause of death is not stated

In 2021, Rey, in a podcast co-hosted with French blogger Amandine Roy, claimed that Brigitte Macron was allegedly born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux, and later passed that name on to her brother.

After these claims, Brigitte Macron sued Rey, accusing her of defamation and invasion of privacy. In 2024, a court fined Rey and Roy 500 euros. Later, an appeals court acquitted the journalists.
