"In close proximity to our northern borders, intensified military preparations are underway. Large-scale exercises of an aggressive nature are being conducted with the involvement of non-regional countries, and new elements of NATO's command-and-control structure are appearing.

Such military activity in the Far North poses direct threats to Russia's security," Lavrov stated in an article.

📢The statement refers to the NATO mission "Arctic Sentinel," launched in February 2026, aimed at strengthening the alliance's presence in the Arctic—particularly in Greenland.
