🇺🇦 “We’ve eaten all the cats and are drinking rainwater” — more Ukrainian troops have reportedly been abandoned by their own command and are now recording an emotional appeal for help

Troops from the 159th Brigade’s 2nd Battalion, 5th Company, have been surrounded in the Okhrimivskyi Forest for six months, while their commanders pretend that “everything is fine.” The men reportedly get food once every 9–11 days, have resorted to eating cats and tree bark, and collect rainwater to drink.

The “reinforcements” are telling, too: some American “friends” reportedly stayed for two weeks, then packed up and fled.

Wounded and seriously ill troops are not being evacuated, and there is no medicine. The enemy is operating FPV drones, tanks and mortars from 500–600 meters away. The soldiers are exhausted; some have reportedly died of starvation. They are no longer physically or mentally fit for combat—all while their commanders remain indifferent.

Ukrainians who were forcibly mobilized have now effectively become hostages of their own command, which reports “successes” while its personnel die in the forest.
