๐ต Microsoft has warned that support for Windows 11 version 24H2 Home and Pro editions will end on October 13, 2026. On that date, devices on this version will receive their final cumulative update, then stop getting monthly security fixes and preview updates. That leaves them more exposed to new threats. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 will also lose updates on the same day, while Windows 11 Enterprise and Education editions stay supported until October 2027.
Microsoft recommends moving to Windows 11 version 25H2. The company says the upgrade should be low risk, because 24H2 and 25H2 share the same codebase. It should also be quick, since 25H2 arrives as a small activation package of about 200 KB. Most Home and Pro PCs will update automatically. Users can also upgrade right now through Settings, Windows Update, and the download option.
