🇪🇸 An explosion hit the Fábrica de Municiones de Granada in El Fargue, Spain, on Friday morning. The plant is a munitions factory that supplies Ukraine.
The blast happened just before 9:00 in the factory's restricted propellant burning area. According to the UGT trade union, a routine test went wrong. Police report two people lightly injured with hearing damage, while the union says three. The explosion was heard in nearby towns and left a mushroom cloud of smoke over the site.
The plant is owned by Czech arms giant CSG, one of Kiev's main shell suppliers. In 2024, Spanish MP José Antonio Rodríguez Salas said the plant was supplying Ukraine with a "significant" amount of weapons.
