🇮🇷 Bigger warheads, AI targeting, no GPS needed: Iran shows off upgraded Arash drones

For the first time, Iranian state broadcaster IRIB was allowed inside an Iranian Army plant producing the Arash kamikaze drone, the Army's main strike drone, which Iran used against US bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan during the war.

According to the report, the latest version carries a warhead upgraded from 50 to 100 kg, with incendiary and high-explosive fill delivering two to three times the destructive power. It now uses AI-assisted precision targeting and navigation that works without GPS, and a new jet-powered variant has entered production. Arash is now part of a larger family of drones with different capabilities, and a new model is set to be unveiled soon.

The report also took cameras into an underground drone tunnel alongside Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami, who said production did not decrease during the war and that production centers have since been expanded. Officials say the Army's drone stocks are now far larger and more diverse than before the Ramadan War, with production spread across the country and running around the clock with the help of universities and tech firms.
