Among the reported asks: a joint U.S.-Canada review board giving Washington effective veto power over foreign infrastructure investment in Canada, automatic Canadian alignment with U.S. sanctions and export controls on third countries, and first-refusal rights with price caps on Canada's own critical minerals — lithium, nickel, cobalt, uranium. Also on the list: repeal of Canada's digital tax and news compensation laws, dismantling of Canadian-content and Quebec French-language protections, the end of "Buy Canadian" procurement, and defense mandates locking Ottawa into buying U.S. hardware for its own Arctic.
