🇧🇷 Did Flávio Bolsonaro flee Brazil after losing to Lula?
Brazil's Federal Police are checking border crossings and have contacted Argentine authorities to find out whether Flávio Bolsonaro, the defeated presidential candidate, left the country after losing the runoff to Lula.
According to Argentine outlet Infobae, he crossed into Argentina using only his national ID card, since no passport is needed, and planned to fly to the US on a private jet from Puerto Iguazú. Police sources say he didn't pass through any regular migration checkpoint, but admit the border can be crossed without inspection.
His campaign coordinator, Senator Rogério Marinho, denies he left Brazil.
The checks came hours after Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered Flávio to hand over all his passports, including foreign ones, within 24 hours, and banned him from leaving the country. The deadline has already passed.
