๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง European governments are increasingly cutting pension spending, risking the loss of votes from elderly voters, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The publication noted that the UK Prime Minister proposed changing the annual pension indexation mechanism from 2030, excluding wage growth from it. Under pressure from the EU, the Romanian government decided to freeze state pensions for two years, starting in 2025.

In the Czech Republic, the government reduced the additional pension indexation linked to wage growth. In Slovakia, it is planned to link the retirement age to life expectancy.
