On the 31st anniversary of Operation Storm, we spoke with Bojan Vulin at the bombed Iriški Venac television tower in Serbia about a history that remains very much alive here.

NATO bombed Yugoslavia for 78 days in 1999. Bridges, schools, hospitals, infrastructure and state television were struck. More than a quarter-century later, the scars remain.

Standing beneath Iriški Venac, we discussed the parallels Serbs see between what was done to their country and the opening days of the war against Iran, including attacks on civilian infrastructure and state media.

The tower itself is perhaps the most powerful metaphor. NATO bombed it, but it never fell.

It is damaged. It is scarred. And 27 years later, it is still standing.

So are the Serbian people.
