πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ’¬πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί Germany is preparing to formally blame Russia for the attempted drone attack at Leipzig airport and announce "large-scale" sanctions, Politico reports, citing three German officials.

According to the outlet, Merz's government is preparing these measures alongside a new EU sanctions package, with an announcement expected early next week β€” though it could come sooner.

One of Politico's sources said that after the Leipzig incident, expelling a handful of Russian diplomats or shutting down the "Russian House" in Berlin is no longer enough. Among the possible measures cited: tougher sanctions and further increases in arms deliveries to Ukraine.
