๐ฎ๐ท๐ด๐ฒ Iran-Gulf meeting on the Strait of Hormuz postponed
The planned meeting between Iran and Gulf states in Oman on Monday has been postponed, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced tonight.
Albusaidi said the delay was โin the interests of consensus,โ while Omanโs Foreign Ministry said more time was needed to create appropriate conditions for constructive dialogue. No new date has been announced.
The meeting was expected to address possible arrangements governing navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, as the region faces an increasingly severe oil and shipping crisis.
The postponement comes after Bahrain had already refused to participate, saying it would not join a collective meeting with Iran before diplomatic relations are restored.
