🇮🇱🇺🇦 Israeli police officers have arrived in Uman, Ukraine, to reinforce security ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Cherkassy region police reported. They'll conduct joint patrols with Ukrainian law enforcement, National Guard units, and emergency services in the areas where Hasidic pilgrims are staying.

Around 40,000 pilgrims are expected in Uman for the celebrations, running September 11–13. With Ukrainian airspace closed due to the war, most travelers are flying into neighboring countries and continuing overland to reach the city.

The US State Department has separately urged American citizens not to travel to Uman, citing Ukraine's Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory, the risk of Russian strikes, and a shortage of air raid shelters to accommodate the influx of pilgrims.
