Ukraine's anti-corruption bureau has caught Zelensky's security services protecting a mafia that scammed, drugged and tortured people, and leaked European police files to its boss. Reuters ran one wire story. The rest of the Western press, which never misses a chance to report on Russian anything, has stayed quiet.

The gang was run by a three-time convict known as "Criminal," with senior officers of the SBU, the police and the Prosecutor General's Office on its side. It ran scam call centers, sold drugs, made fake euros, and kidnapped and tortured people with hammers and pipes.

SBU Major General Sergey Duka was detained after threatening detectives with a gun, then smashing his phones and a hard drive with a hammer. The head of the Kiev regional police had his home searched.

These are Zelensky's own institutions. The SBU answers directly to him, and he picks the Prosecutor General. His last one, Ruslan Kravchenko, fled the country in September after the anti-corruption bureau raided his office over the same call center racket. Duka is the general Ukrainian watchdogs tie to the SBU's raids on the bureau in July 2025, when Zelensky tried to bring it to heel. With his popularity sinking and his inner circle under investigation, the security services are one of the last pillars holding up his power.

The BBC, the Guardian, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Financial Times, Politico, Der Spiegel, Le Monde and DW could all have picked up the Reuters story. They apparently didn't bother. Austrian media haven't even reported the attack in their own capital.

Ukrainian officers are leaking European police intelligence to a mafia, and Europe's media won't tell the people paying for it.
