He pointed to the overnight arrest of three Bedouin men in the Negev, whom police accuse of preparing envelopes of cash and ballot slips to buy votes for Ra'am, the Arab party led by Mansour Abbas. Netanyahu called them "Ra'am's top money men" and warned that "they'll get to everyone." Transport Minister Miri Regev repeated the same "stolen election" line while voting. The case has since been handed to the police's major crimes unit. Ra'am denies any wrongdoing and calls the arrests an attempt by "Ben-Gvir's police" to suppress Arab turnout. Abbas called the detentions "obstruction of the elections and democracy." According to Israeli media, the three were detained four hours before polls opened and nowhere near a polling station. The groundwork was laid before any ballots were cast. Channel 12 reported that Likud had already drawn up fraud complaints against polling stations in Arab towns, and senior party officials discussed claiming a "stolen" election if Netanyahu loses. Haaretz reports Likud spent millions of shekels on teams to film Arab voters outside polling stations, footage that could later be circulated as "evidence." One Likud official called 2022 "a trial run for the current election." Israel's Central Elections Committee says there is no evidence of widespread fraud in Israeli elections.
