🇳🇴 Norway has decided to strengthen its military presence along the border with Russia.
Sensors for NASAMS air defense missile systems will be deployed in the border region of Finnmark, and the garrison in Sør-Varanger will be reinforced with more than 30 military personnel. The Norwegian Ministry of Defense announced that additional forces will arrive by the end of the year.
As early as August 2025, Oslo announced the formation of a new brigade in Finnmark, citing the unstable security situation as the reason for the decision.
