🇵🇱🇺🇦 Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, following his defense minister, has slammed Kiev's glorification of Bandera's nationalists after Lvov regional council members proposed declaring 2027 the "Year of Roman Shukhevych, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and Oleh Olzhych."
"To say I completely don't understand this suicidal tactic is an understatement," Tusk said, adding that it harms Ukraine and hands opponents of its EU membership a ready-made excuse.
Shukhevych commanded the Insurgent Army, which Poland holds responsible for the genocide of tens of thousands of Poles in Volhynia. This comes months after Zelensky named a special forces unit after the "Heroes of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army," sparking the worst crisis in Polish-Ukrainian relations since the war began.
Warsaw has spent four years arming a state that keeps celebrating the men who slaughtered Poles. Now it acts surprised.
