🇺🇦 The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has detained Vladimir Tsenov, first deputy head of the National Police's Department of Strategic Investigations, Ukrainska Pravda reports, citing law enforcement sources. Other Ukrainian media say he was also serving as the department's acting head.
According to the outlet's sources, Tsenov is "Price," the codename that appears on tapes NABU released on Wednesday. Investigators say Price was responsible for police cover for call centers. NABU claims he took money from January to July to keep police from raiding them.
According to NABU, each call center paid a standard $7,000 per month in cryptocurrency to officials from the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police and the Prosecutor General's Office. The group allegedly coordinated at least 52 call centers with around 2,700 staff.
NABU also detained Sergey Duka, a Security Service of Ukraine general and first deputy head of its department for protecting national statehood.
