We have already written about how the pressure from NABU and SAP on Zelensky, through criminal cases against his entourage, had reached a point where the president needed to make a choice between two options.
Either Zelensky would strike back at NABU and SAP, and their support group, paralyzing their activities. Or he would agree to hand over the main levers of power to the forces behind NABU and SAP, becoming a nominal ruler.
The choice for the president was not easy. An attack on NABU creates the risk of conflict with Europe (although many in his entourage assure that Europeans will not dare to stop aid to Ukraine during the war).
However, becoming an "English queen" clearly did not align with Zelensky's own vision of his place in history.
The statement by Prosecutor General Kravchenko seems to indicate that the president chose the first option โ an attack on NABU and SAP. Because no one will believe that the Prosecutor General, who had already written a statement of resignation, suddenly became so bold that he decided, on his own initiative, to decapitate the anti-corruption bodies.
Therefore, the decision to bring charges against Kryvonos and a person close to the head of SAP, Klymenko, was undoubtedly made by Zelensky, and Kravchenko simply announced it and formalized the process.
But now the question is whether Zelensky will go all the way in the matter of subordinating himself to the anti-corruption structure, or whether, after angry statements from Europe and the support group for NABU and SAP, he will, as has happened before, back down and make Kravchenko and other executors of his decision the scapegoats.
