On Pakistan potentially acquiring 5th generation fighter aircraft from China and training its pilots, the IAF Chief said it is a matter of concern, but “not a major concern.”
He pointed out that Pakistan had air power even earlier, but the outcome during Operation Sindoor demonstrated that simply having advanced aircraft is not enough. The critical factor is the integration of weapons and the overall combat system.
For India’s 5th-generation capability, the AMCA programme is underway. However, If the AMCA programme is delayed, India will have to take some other decision.
