🇵🇰 Pakistan's strategic command chief has hit back at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's warning of an even stronger Indian response to any new terror attack from across the border.
"Any miscalculation will be met with a response far beyond the imagination or calculation of the initiator," said Gen Aamer Raza, Commander of Pakistan's National Strategic Command, at the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, on Saturday. He added there was "no space for conflict or war in a nuclearised environment".
What set it off: at a defence conclave in New Delhi on Thursday, Rajnath said any further terrorist act originating from Pakistan would invite an even stronger response, and that India's commitment to peace should not be mistaken for weakness. Pakistan's Foreign Office called his remarks "reckless" a day later.
Why it matters: this is Islamabad's second rebuttal in two days, and this time it came from a top general rather than a spokesperson.
