Reporting in the Western press puts interception of the jet Geran at around 60 percent, while Ukraine's air defence still handles 90 to 95 percent of everything else in the sky. The interesting part is who is publishing it, because a gap like that used to be dismissed as Russian exaggeration until Kyiv's own officials started quoting it to Western correspondents. Once the figure sits in the London and New York papers, European governments have to plan around it, and planning around a four-in-ten leak rate means admitting their donated systems cannot cover the map.
