NATO has increased its intelligence activity along the eastern flank.
Over the past four days, E-3A Sentry Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft and RC-135W Rivet Joint electronic intelligence aircraft have repeatedly patrolled near Kaliningrad, Poland, and Lithuania.
There has also been an increase in naval and anti-submarine sorties. According to Military Chronicle, the intelligence gathering may be related to monitoring the Baltic Fleet and shipping routes to Kaliningrad.
