The Home, the Library, and Her Final Day

Zeinab married a man involved in the resistance, a man who, in many ways, resembled the land that had raised her. In her home, she embodied honesty, serenity, and devotion. She cared for her family and raised her four children, Hassan, Zahraa, Hussein, and Abbas, with tenderness, patience, and a smile that rarely left her face.

And when the moment of departure came, she did not leave without her children, the very children she had taught to reject occupation and understand the reality it imposed upon their homeland.

Her personal library carried the final traces of her literary life. In the last days before her death, Zeinab reorganized her home library in Haret Hreik, in Beirut's southern suburbs, with the help of her husband, in preparation for collecting her poems and writings and publishing them in a book.

On the final day of her life, she visited her father's grave twice, on Friday. She later told her mother about a dream in which she saw her grandmother welcoming them with colorful ceramic cups.

That same night, Zeinab was killed alongside her four children, leaving behind a literary, human, and critical legacy marked by beauty, purity, and an enduring devotion to words.
