Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada will impose dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods starting September 8.
The move follows the collapse of CanadaβU.S. trade negotiations after Washington imposed 50% tariffs on roughly $20 billion worth of Canadian imports.
