HYROX Athlete Apologises, Forfeits Beijing Win After Mid-Race Incident

Australian HYROX athlete Joanna Wietrzyk has apologised after continuing a Beijing race despite suffering a bowel-control incident mid-competition. She later acknowledged she should have stopped, withdrew from the event retrospectively and forfeited her ranking points.

HYROX has also introduced new rules allowing officials to remove athletes when bodily fluids pose contamination risks.
