⚡Kerala Erupts in Clash as Congress, SFI Workers Face Off During Protest Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar

A Youth Congress-KSU march demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar turned violent near the Kerala University Men’s Hostel in Thiruvananthapuram on September 30. Stones, bottles and burning objects were reportedly hurled as both sides blamed each other for triggering the clash. Police used tear gas and lathicharge to disperse the groups after the confrontation continued for several hours.

Following the clash, SFI and DYFI workers protested against the police action, with CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan and other Left leaders joining a sit-in outside the hostel. Police later registered separate cases against 80 Youth Congress/KSU activists and 80 SFI/DYFI activists.
