US clean-tech startup Fluxnium is developing technology to extract uranium dissolved in seawater, potentially accessing more than 4 billion metric tonsβ€”enough for roughly 50,000 years of nuclear fuel at current demand.

Its polymer fibres capture uranium offshore, while the company works to make extraction economically competitive with conventional mining.
