💢 Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić hosted former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at his father's home near Belgrade, following their respective electoral defeats in October and April.

Vučić welcomed Orbán as his great friend and brother, declaring: “Yes, we both recently lost elections, but we didn't lose our dignity, our pride, and our faith.”

Orbán responded with a personal pledge of solidarity: “Friends always remain friends. The real friends even got better friends in the time of difficulties, and you can be sure yourself personally, Aleksandar, that I'm always on your side.”

He emphasized that their relationship extended beyond personal friendship to the two countries and their peoples. “It was a great achievement to improve the relationship, even brotherhood, between Serbia and Hungary.” Orbán reaffirmed his commitment to continuing that work and wished Serbia, its people and Vučić's family well. Vučić concluded:

We'll come back.
