💢 Iran remains in a “wartime situation” following the conflict with the US and Israel, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on arrival in New York for the UN General Assembly.

President Masoud Pezeshkian will use the UN platform to present Iran’s position on the war and its casualties, while holding bilateral meetings, media interviews and talks with Iranian and foreign intellectuals. Araghchi said he will also meet foreign ministers during the four-to-five-day visit.

Araghchi also attacked the UN’s credibility, saying this year’s theme of “reviving trust in the United Nations” itself reflects the collapse of confidence in the organization. He accused Western states of shielding Israel while remaining silent over Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, and said restoring trust in the UN would be a central Iranian message in New York.
