Heydari told Qatar-based Al Araby TV that after it became known Khamenei had been wounded and hospitalized, three hospitals in Tehran were struck.
“Mojtaba Khamenei was in the third hospital and was pulled from under the rubble,” he said.
Heydari said the Assembly later received information that Khamenei was in good health and capable of assuming the leadership. His account adds significant new detail to earlier Iranian statements, which had described Khamenei’s injuries as relatively minor.
