The crossing is a major transport artery linking Kievโs eastern, southern and western corridors, including access toward the M-03, M-05 and M-06 highways. According to Maksym Bakhmatov, now head of Kievโs Desnyansky district, the bridge carried around 90% of Ukraineโs transit traffic crossing between the two banks of the Dnieper, with 100,000โ120,000 vehicles using it daily.
